South African teachers already do extraordinary work with limited time. FutureReady Digital is here to give some of that time back.
On 1 October 2026 we open our doors to schools across the country. This post explains what the platform is, who it is for and how your school can get started.
Why we built FutureReady Digital
Most schools run on a patchwork of tools: mark sheets in spreadsheets, SBA files in boxes, WhatsApp groups for parents and a separate system for everything else. Information gets captured twice, files go missing and nobody has the full picture.
We wanted one place where teaching, assessment and communication fit together, built around CAPS and the way South African schools actually work.
What you can do on the platform
For teachers
- Plan lessons against the CAPS Annual Teaching Plan, with every topic available per subject and grade.
- Build courses with rich text, video and attachments, and set quizzes that mark themselves.
- Set SBA tasks, collect submissions online and capture marks once. Term SBA records calculate automatically.
- Take attendance period by period and set homework that parents can see.
For HODs and principals
- Review and approve SBA tasks and report cards before they are released, with notes and a full audit trail.
- See SBA completion, attendance and at-risk learners across the school on one dashboard.
- Generate report cards with subject results, attendance and promotion status.
For learners and parents
- Learners join their class with a class code, work through lessons, take quizzes and submit tasks from a phone or computer.
- Answers save as learners work, so a dropped connection doesn't cost them their progress.
- Parents follow progress, attendance and homework, and can message teachers directly.
Capture it once, use it everywhere. That is the idea behind FutureReady Digital.
Built for South African realities
- Works on the phones learners already have. The platform is designed mobile-first and can be installed like an app.
- Kind to data and patchy connections. Key information stays available offline, and work saves as you go.
- Your data stays in South Africa. School data is hosted on South African servers, and we take POPIA seriously.
- Every role in one place. Teachers, HODs, principals, learners, parents and district officials each see what they need, and nothing they shouldn't.
How to get started
- Register your school on our school sign-up page. You will need your school's EMIS number, province and district.
- Book your onboarding session. A member of our team will contact you within one business day to help set up your school.
- Bring your staff and learners on board. Teachers get their own accounts, and learners join classes with a class code.

What happens on 1 October
From launch day, schools can register, meet our team and start setting up. There is no need to move everything across at once. Many schools begin with one grade or one department, learn what works for them, and grow from there.
If your school joined our waiting list, look out for an email from us on launch day with everything you need to begin.
