Terms and Conditions

Effective: 8 October 2026 Last updated: 8 October 2026 FutureReady Digital (Pty) Ltd
Please read carefully. By accessing or using FutureReady Digital, or paying for any of our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must consent to these terms on your behalf before you may use the platform.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the FutureReady Digital learning and school-management platform ("Platform") at futurereadydigital.co.za, and every purchase made on it. The Platform is operated by FutureReady Digital (Pty) Ltd ("FutureReady", "we", "us").

By registering an account, ticking a box to accept these Terms, paying an invoice or accessing the Platform, you ("User") agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cancellation Policy, Delivery Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

Schools that sign a service agreement or Data Processing Agreement with us are also bound by those documents. If they conflict with these Terms, the signed document applies.

Important - Required for Learners Under 18

In accordance with section 35 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Children's Act 38 of 2005, the following consent requirements apply:

  • Learners under 18 may not register for or use the Platform unless a parent or legal guardian has consented, either to the school at enrolment or on our enrolment form.
  • Where a school enrols the learner, the school, as the responsible party under POPIA, must obtain and keep a record of this consent before activating the account.
  • By accepting a class code and registering, the learner confirms that their parent or legal guardian has been informed of and consented to their use of the Platform.
  • Parents or legal guardians may withdraw consent at any time by contacting the school administrator or our Information Officer at privacy@futurereadydigital.co.za.
  • Withdrawal of consent will result in the learner's account being deactivated and personal data deleted within 7 business days.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Registration. Learners join with a class code from their teacher or school, or apply through our enrolment form. Teachers and administrators are registered by their school administrator. Tutors create a workspace through our tutor sign-up page. Parents request access and can log in once we have verified their link to the learner.

4.2 Account security. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. You must immediately notify your school administrator or FutureReady if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4.3 Accurate information. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering and keep it up to date. False information may result in account suspension.

4.4 One account per person. Each user may hold only one account. Sharing accounts or login details is not allowed and may lead to suspension.

5. School & Tutor Responsibilities

Schools and tutors using the Platform are responsible for:

  • Obtaining and keeping written guardian consent for all learners under 18 they add, before activating their accounts.
  • Making sure their learners, teachers and parents know about and follow these Terms and our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Designating an administrator to manage user accounts and report concerns to FutureReady.
  • Keeping school and learner information accurate and up to date.
  • Telling FutureReady promptly if a guardian withdraws consent or if they identify a safeguarding concern.

6. Prices, Invoices & Payment

6.1 Prices. Prices for schools, districts and tutors are shown on our pricing page. Learner course plans, when offered, are priced on the enrolment form. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are the full price: we are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added, and there are no delivery fees.

6.2 Invoices. We email each invoice as a PDF when it is issued, and it stays available under My Invoices in your account. Payment is due by the date on the invoice, normally 7 days after it is issued. Monthly plans receive one invoice a month; annual plans receive one invoice for the year.

6.3 How to pay. You can pay online through PayFast, using a card or any other method PayFast offers at checkout, or by EFT into the bank account shown on the invoice, using the invoice number as the reference. Card details are entered on PayFast's secure payment page; we never see or store them.

6.4 No automatic debits. We do not debit your card or bank account automatically. Every payment is made by you against an invoice.

6.5 Late payment. A learner's course lessons stay locked while their first invoice is unpaid, and lock again if a later invoice passes its due date. A school or tutor account is paused at the end of its free trial until its first invoice is paid. Access opens again once payment is confirmed.

6.6 Price changes. A learner plan keeps the price it started at. For subscriptions, we give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change affects your next invoice.

7. Free Trials

Tutor workspaces and schools start with a 30-day free trial. No card is needed and nothing is charged during the trial. We email you 7 days and 1 day before the trial ends. If you continue, your first invoice is issued when the trial ends; if you do not, tell us and we cancel it, and you owe nothing.

8. Cooling-Off, Cancellation & Refunds

8.1 Cooling-off. Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, you may cancel a purchase within 7 days of paying for it, without reason or penalty, and receive a full refund within 30 days of cancelling.

8.2 Cancelling. You may cancel any plan at any time, with no cancellation fee or notice period. How and when a cancellation takes effect is set out in our Cancellation Policy.

8.3 Refunds. Refunds after the cooling-off period depend on the plan, as set out in our Refund Policy.

9. Delivery of the Service

All our services are delivered online through your account; nothing is shipped. When and how you get access after signing up or paying is set out in our Delivery Policy.

10. Acceptable Use

Users must not:

  • Share their login details with any other person.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data.
  • Submit plagiarised content for assignments or quizzes.
  • Post offensive, defamatory, discriminatory or harmful content in forums, messages or peer reviews.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, disrupt or exploit the Platform or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use the Platform to distribute malware, spam or unsolicited communications.
  • Impersonate another user, teacher or FutureReady staff member.
  • Use the Platform for any purpose other than legitimate educational use.

Violations may result in account suspension and notification to the school. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement. Our Acceptable Use Policy has the full rules.

11. Your Content

11.1 Ownership. You keep ownership of content you create (assignments, forum posts, messages, peer reviews). By submitting content to the Platform, you give FutureReady a limited licence to store, display and process it only to deliver the Platform to you and your school.

11.2 Prohibited content. Users must not post content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or that violates the rights of others. FutureReady may remove any content that breaks these Terms.

11.3 AI-generated content. Submitting AI-generated text as your own work in assignments or assessments is academic dishonesty and may result in a zero mark and an account review.

12. Intellectual Property

All lesson content, course materials, assessments, software code, design elements and trademarks on the Platform belong to FutureReady Digital (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from Platform content without our written permission.

Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. FutureReady Digital is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft Corporation.

13. Platform Availability

We work to keep the Platform available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be unavailable during planned maintenance, which we announce in advance where possible, or because of events beyond our control, such as power or network failures.

Offline features (downloaded lessons and quizzes saved on the device) keep working without internet access and sync when you reconnect.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by South African law, FutureReady's total liability to any user or school is limited to the fees paid for the Platform in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or incidental losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for gross negligence or fraud.

15. Suspension & Termination

15.1 By you. You may cancel at any time as set out in our Cancellation Policy. After a school or tutor subscription ends, data can be exported for 30 days and is then deleted as set out in our Privacy Policy.

15.2 By FutureReady. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms, immediately for serious breaches or after 14 days' notice for other breaches. If we stop offering a service, we give at least 30 days' notice and refund any prepaid amount for the period you can no longer use.

15.3 Effect of termination. When your account ends, your right to use the Platform ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) continue to apply.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will email account holders about material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on this page.

17. Governing Law, Complaints & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Any dispute we cannot resolve together shall first be referred to mediation. If mediation fails, either party may approach a South African court with jurisdiction, including the Gauteng Division of the High Court, Johannesburg.

Consumers may also approach the National Consumer Commission. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interim relief from any competent court.
